BEFORE YOU DECIDE

A clear agreement.
A better start.

Read how scope, payment, revisions, and cancellation work. Your project summary puts the specific pages, features, and timeline in writing before you pay.

1. Confirm the project before payment

Sending a project brief is free and does not start a subscription. Lake State reviews the request and sends a written project summary for you to approve.

The summary identifies the pages, features, content responsibilities, any integrations and third-party costs, the plan and billing schedule, and the target launch date. We send a Stripe payment link after you accept that summary and these service details in writing.

For example, a booking-request form collects a preferred date for your business to review. A live calendar with instant confirmation, appointment deposits, an online store, and online ordering require a separate scope discussion. They are not automatically included because you select Business.

2. Price and billing

Starter: $149 per month, with up to 5 pages and one content update per month. Business: $249 per month, with up to 10 pages, the listed additional features, and unlimited reasonable content updates. Both include design, development, hosting, SSL, maintenance, and support. There is no setup fee.

Your first payment is due after project approval and before design work starts. Monthly subscriptions charge at checkout and renew every month on the subscription’s billing schedule. Once design work begins, you commit to the first three consecutive monthly billing periods, counted from the first payment at checkout, not from the design or launch date: $447 for Starter or $747 for Business, before any separately agreed third-party costs. A later design or launch date does not restart that minimum term. The first three billing dates and the earliest normal cancellation date are stated in your project summary. Billing continues monthly after that until canceled.

Annual plans are $1,490 for Starter or $2,490 for Business, paid for 12 months. Annual arrangements and renewal details are confirmed in your project summary before payment.

New pages, major redesigns, new functionality, and third-party services are discussed separately. No additional project work or third-party purchase is authorized merely by submitting an inquiry.

3. Content, design, and revisions

After payment, use the welcome questionnaire to share the agreed project information and links to your logo, photos, copy, and other materials. Use material you own or have permission to use. Do not send account passwords through a form or email; access arrangements are handled separately.

We confirm the build schedule once the agreed content is ready. You receive a private design preview before launch. Two consolidated rounds of pre-launch design revisions are included for the agreed scope. A round means one collected set of feedback on the current preview.

If your requested changes add pages, replace the agreed direction, or require new functionality, we explain any effect on scope, cost, and timing before you decide. Your monthly content-update allowance stays the same after launch.

You approve the finished preview before it goes live. Delays in content or approvals may change the launch date; we confirm a revised plan with you.

4. Your domain, your content, and the managed website

Your domain and materials you supply remain yours. Your subscription provides access to the website hosted and managed by Lake State while the service is active.

The subscription is not a purchase of transferable website source files. A separate source-file transfer or move to another host is only included if expressly agreed in writing before purchase. Third-party fonts, images, software, and services remain subject to their own licenses.

When the applicable paid service ends, the hosted website goes offline. Canceling Lake State’s service does not transfer ownership of your domain to us. Keep original copies of the content you supply and control of your domain account.

5. Cancellation and refunds

Before design work starts

Cancel through the cancellation request form or email lakestatewebco@gmail.com. We refund all website-plan payments collected before design work started and stop future subscription charges. The three-month commitment does not apply if design work has not started.

After design work starts

For monthly plans, cancellation takes effect at the end of the first three monthly billing periods counted from checkout or the current paid monthly period, whichever is later. For annual plans, cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid 12-month term. You can submit the request in advance so the subscription does not renew after that date.

The site remains online through the applicable paid term and then goes offline. Payments covering work already started or an active service period are not refunded simply because you change your mind or stop using the site. Unused portions of a paid monthly or annual term are not prorated.

If Lake State cannot deliver the agreed website

If Lake State cancels the project before launch or cannot deliver the website agreed in the project summary, we refund the website-project payments and stop the subscription. A revised scope or launch date requires your agreement.

How a request is handled

Use the email associated with your subscription. We verify the request, confirm the effective date and any refund in writing, and process the cancellation in Stripe. A form submission records your request; the response from Lake State confirms the cancellation details. We aim to respond within one business day.

Any separately approved domain registration, stock asset, or third-party service has the refund terms disclosed for that purchase. Nothing here removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

6. After launch

Send content updates and support questions to lakestatewebco@gmail.com. Starter includes one content update each month. Business includes unlimited reasonable content updates and priority support. Updates cover existing text, images, hours, and service information; new pages and functionality are discussed separately.

We acknowledge requests and confirm their timing. We do not promise a particular search ranking, number of leads, or sales result. Your website is one part of your wider business and marketing.
